A person should be mentally PHYSICALLY and spiritually balanced, then that person can be called as completely healthy.
Though Ayurveda considered to be a science of 5000 of years old, it gave an important place for the physical exercise called VYAYAMA/EXERCISE. There is always a generalization on exercises, but each person needs a customized way of doing the exercises. Let the selection be any one which gives a proper sweating like running, sports, exercises, swimming, Zumba, yoga etc etc. For those who are very new to exercise should always start with a qualified instructor, and slowly customize your pattern and practice it regularly.
Ayurveda says, the benefits of exercise as follows,
“LAKHAVAM KARMASAMARTYAM DIPTO AGNIR MEDASA KSHAYA,
VIBHAKTA GHANA GATRATWAM VYAYAMAT UPAJAYATHE”
Lightness of the body, ability to do the works, good appetite, removing unwanted fat, well-shaped and strong body.t also says the exercise should be regularized according to the age, season, food, etc. There is some pattern to be followed when we start the exercise.
The very important thing is the involvement of mind during the exercise. It makes a lot of differences in the output. Lots of researches says that the exercise helps to burst out the accumulated stress, so also considered as one of the ways to reduce the stress. People who engage in more physical activity always have a logic thinking and emotionally balanced. It balances even the pituitary gland for normal hormonal production. This may be the reason for the increased crime rates in the society as everybody is under stress and can’t make a way for its channelization. And when that channel is blocked the whole energy will be redirected towards other unwanted channels.
